Presenting...my third blog..

first of all, as you know, this is the third blog. i have finished the second assesment which is the 'convicted killer back at work'.
it appears that, the process of the assesment took me about two days to think of wonderful ideas to be put on the assesment. however, it came up to be quite satisfying (for me).
eventually, im working hard to improve my positioning and perspectives writing. i just cant seem to fully understand about the terms and right now im wroking hard by asking my friends and maybe consulting it with mr. joe..
sometimes, i get the source to my assesments through the internet, blogs from my friends and sorts. it helped me quite a lot but still, i wanted to improve it into a better one.
well,this is nevertheless my last typing for this blog..and i'll update it later next week.

My second blog

well, this is the obviously the second blog. im going to talk about the assesment that sir joe had given to us. its about reading an article from the critical literacy reading book and critisize it. the article is about battling the bullies. as you can see, i have posted a blog about how i critisized it in the article.
it was quite tough though as i was thinking of ideas that i want to put into the blog about battling the bullies but then again i can cope with it. i have just submitted the assesment and right now im in a process of doing the second assesment which is critisizing the article titled convicted killer back at work.
the subject critical literacy i would rate it as a quite tough subject but then when i have a lecturer who is very supportive and understanding then i have no problems at all in understanding the subject (sir..this is not 'bodek')
apparently, im always focusing on how to make great sentences of the positioning and perspectives.
that is all for now,i'll post the next blog later.

Purpose

The article aims to inform the parents and teachers about bullying in school. Moreover, it also warns the teachers and schools to take immediate actions in order to overcome the bullies. Furthermore, the article advises the parents and teachers how to solve bullies problems among children at school.

Perspective

The stance taken in the article is negative.

Positioning

The article describes the school authority as if they were the one that should be blame.

Impact

The effect on readers is likely to be the parents will be more aware of the symptoms that indicate their children are being bullied. Secondly, the parents and teachers realize that bullying is not a small problem which brings them to concern more about their children. Also, the parents and teachers know how to overcome the bullies. Furthermore, the parents and teachers will be more concerned and sensitive on their children’s surroundings especially in school.

Visual Literacy

The visual aspects of the text are not significant because the word ‘bullies’ should be capitalized to make it more serious. Moreover, the image is not appropriate because it should use models of the same gender and the picture looks like sexual harassment. In addition, the headline significant because it tells the readers about the whole article.

journal for critical literacy

Hye everybody!(especially to Mr. Joe). Im Diana Zafira from Decom 4 and today I would like to express myself through this blog. Firstly, I just started semester 4 in Decom last week. This would be the second week. Its been a long holiday and right now im back on track. I missed my family so much and I just can't wait for the next holiday which is Chinese New Year. Back on the topic, I find it kind of hard though when i discovered all the subjects for this semester. I know when it comes to studying, its getting tougher and harder every semester. For whatever reason, i'll strive harder for this semester and i'll shoot my best to get a better pointer. Eventually, the reason why i create this blog is to write a journal about what i have learned today.
Apparently, I've learned about how to critized my thinking process to an upper level. For example, today, my lecturer, Mr. Joe had taught me how to read an article by knowing who produced this text, for whom and why. It is my first assignment for subject Critical Literacy (COM 4623). It is an introduction for this subject. Im in a process of working on this task.
Furthermore, the article can be taken from daily newspapers, magazines or even the internet.
In the assignment, I have to include topic, content, source, audience, rhetorical function, purpose, perspective, positioning, impact and visual literacy.
Lastly, I'll update this blog when the assignment is fully done.
